Janet Carol Spradling
Born on May 20th, 1951
in Ashland, Kentucky.
Janet Carol was born in Ashland, KY, in the spring of 1951. Her parents
were farmers, and sold hogs and cows to help with the bills when times
were tough. Janet has 11 siblings, but only 6 are by her mother, Thelma
- the other 5 siblings are from her father's two previous marriages.
Janet is the youngest of all 12 children, and also the only one to be
born in a hospital instead of on the farm.
Her mother, Thelma Elizabeth, died of cancer when Janet was only 4
years old. Janet was raised by her sisters, and attended the Ashland
School District.
In 1969, at age 18, she married John Potts and had a son named John
Potts II. They divorced a few years later, and then she married Joe
Brown on February 17th, 1985. The next year her daughter, Joey Carol,
was born. She divorced Joe Brown in 2005.
Today she resides in Flatwoods, KY.
